This exceptional variant of Oriental Plane was discovered here at Mount Pleasant by Geoff Locke about 40 years ago. The unique feature is that in autumn, the leaves on older trees normally develop stunning orange and red colours. After many years of trialling here, this tree was released for the first time last year and was selected by the editor of the Royal Horticultural Society Plant Finder guide who highlights it as “a new gem for 2026”.  Only available here.
